Catching Up Over Coffee: May 2022

Life

Josh and I went and got ice cream at the place where we had our second date. Thankfully this time it wasn’t as hot as it was last June—nor were we interrupted by his friends, which is a story for another time 🙄 His family also got a dog earlier this year, and before we went for ice cream, we took Pennie for a walk. She’s such a cutie.

We celebrated Lucy’s first birthday on May 18! It’s crazy to think she’s already a year old. I had found an old picture we took of me holding her—see the photo below—so I wanted to re-create it with her now; she was mostly just confused about why I was picking her up but we took the picture quickly because she’s a lot heavier now.

I worked nine days in a row—because of commencement weekend—before I had six days off and my trip to Cooperstown, NY. My birthday was May 25 and was the start of my vacation, so I treated myself to a shopping trip. I stopped by the Dollar Store to get new door hangers for my front door (picture on the left) and then, of course, had to go to Target (picture on the right); my parents got me a gift card as an early birthday gift so I got a t-shirt dress (in the picture it’s folded under so it’d fit in the picture, it hits at about my knees when I’m wearing it), earrings, a book, a clock for my nightstand, and wooden stars to go on my tv stand. I spent the rest of the afternoon reading outside before meeting my parents for dinner since my mom and I share the same birthday. I went back home with them for gifts and dessert and played with the pups for a little while.

My Cooperstown, NY recap will be up later this week. I have a ton of photos to go through 🙂 And I spent Memorial Day at a pool party with some of the folks from the theater group I volunteer with. We did it last year in June and figured it was time to get together again for a pool party.

Running/Exercise/Whatever

I think I’ve run a few times this month; it mostly seems like a blur. I did run a 5K the first weekend this month that was fun. I also have a 5K race coming up this Saturday morning, and that’s all I have for races scheduled in June.

Sports

It’s either the Red Sox are doing great or they’re doing terrible—there is no in-between. I had some trouble logging into the MLB.TV app on my TV for like a week so I wasn’t able to watch some of the games, which may have been a good thing.

  1. Cute door hangers. My goodness Lucy has grown. You will have trouble recreating that picture next year! We started watching Dopesick on Netflix. Looks to be very interesting. Excited to see your pictures of Cooperstown.
