Let’s Be Blah Together

Since this whole thing started, I’ve had good weeks and bad weeks. I am very grateful I’m able to work from home but I’m only working from home because we’re in the middle of a pandemic. Like I’m not working from home on a snow day.

I’m trying to be good about taking care of myself and not getting burnt out. But sometimes there are just days when everything sucks.

Last week I was feeling like I was in a rut, so I messaged my good blogging buddies, Paul and Cass. I said I was checking in because I felt blah, and to my surprise, they had recently also felt blah. We then started talking about what we’re watching on Netflix and it was a good distraction from my mood.

It was nice to know that others are feeling the same way, too.

I told them I was going to write a post about this and offered them space for a comment. Paul said, “Kermit the Frog once said, ‘It ain’t easy being green.’ However, it is a bit easier being blah, especially when two of your friends are also feeling blah because then every chat can go, ‘Hey hey, blah blah blah.’” When asked for her comment, Cass was lost in a book and didn’t know what day it was.

So I guess in all of this, I’m just saying it’s okay to feel blah and it’s okay to reach out to others. Because they’re probably feeling blah or felt blah at some point.

  1. I think feeling bleh is normal right now. I go through phases too. Thankfully just the smallest things can snap us out – even if its accepting that you’re feeling bleh and another person says they are feeling bleh too and then you both feel bleh together for a little bit. I hope you’re feeling better!
