Hey, hi, it’s been a bit since my last post, but I’m still here! Just busy, which is weird, considering it’s below-freezing here in New England.
Josh and I recently celebrated our 2.5 year anniversary, and in keeping with our usual tradition, we did something to mark the day. For full-year anniversaries, like one year, two years, etc., we’ll exchange gifts and plan an afternoon trip; for half-year anniversaries, we go out for dinner. I know, we’re disgusting.
Since we had scheduled plans on the actual day of our anniversary—which I’ll get to below—we decided to do something Friday afternoon (I took the day off, and Josh regularly has it off from work).
Our first stop was bowling—we hadn’t been in over a year, and I figured the bowling alley wouldn’t be busy on a Friday afternoon. I’m surprised Josh agreed to it since he claims I “hustled” him the last time we went. It’s not my fault I’m the cool kid who rolls in with her own bowling ball and shoes and can get an occasional strike.

We paid for an hour of bowling and ended up playing three games. The results?
- Game 1—Me: 114, Josh: 61
- Game 2—Me: 132, Josh: 106
- Game 3—Me: 124, Josh: 68
By the last game, our arms were getting sore, and I definitely felt it over the weekend. It was a great time of day to go bowling; there were people in like five or so other lanes in the alley, and we beat the nighttime crowd.
Our next stop was the brewery where we had our first date! We hadn’t been since we went for Valentine’s day last year, and Josh instantly suggested it when I asked if we were doing something for 2.5 years.

This time around, though, it wasn’t a five-hour date like the first time we met.

We both got flights and split fried pickles; Josh got a pesto chicken sandwich and I got chicken tenders (don’t judge: every once in a while I like to get chicken tenders).
Josh is convinced that the staff working on the night of our first date knew it was our first date and that they still talk about us. I doubt it; if anything, they were probably like “Why are these people here an hour past closing?” But this brewery will always be special to us.

On the actual day of our anniversary, we went to Josh’s work holiday party! We went last year, and I kept up my tradition of taking pictures with all of his co-workers. I got to see some that I met last year, and I got to meet a few new people. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of dancing. And they had a photo booth!
Last year I bought a dress, but this year, I decided to try out Rent the Runway. I got this dress, and I was really happy with it. The dress was comfortable, and I got some compliments on it. I did their usual four-day rental, and thankfully you can order two sizes (the second one is free). You send back your rental the day after your event, or in my case, since UPS is closed on Sundays, on Monday morning. I’d definitely use Rent the Runway again!
Then on Sunday we just stayed in and watched football. It was well deserved after a busy start to the weekend. It’s crazy to think we celebrated 2.5 years, but it’s even crazier to think 3 years will be this July.
when I first saw your headline i thought it was the 25th!……I remember when my wife and I started dating, well I proposed pretty quick (she fed me and I found out there were foods that weren’t pizza or came out of a can..and she liked that I kept cleaning her apartment)..I think we celebrated every month, after 38 years..yeah, once a year is enough….
