Notre Dame’s championship win: I don’t actively watch college basketball, but I do normally try to catch some of March Madness. I’ll admit that I do watch the men’s more, but I think that’s because I live in Connecticut, and all we hear about is the UConn’s women’s basketball team. (This is what happens when we don’t have a pro team. Thanks, Whalers.) I’m happy that Notre Dame won, and they won in dramatic fashion with a 3-point shot at the final buzzer.
Plus I love Muffet McGraw’s outfits. She’s quite fashionable.
The “If you don’t love me at my ____, then you don’t deserve me at my___” memes: I normally don’t hop on the meme train, because some of them are dumb. But I like the new one I’ve seen pop up on Twitter. Some of the “If you don’t love me” ones are good, and of course, most of the ones I’ve seen are sports-related. But this is one meme I can support. (Kermit sipping tea, not so much.)
Dog birthdays: I make my parents celebrate our two dogs’ birthdays. Our golden, Sadie Mae, has a birthday in January, and Maggie, our German shepherd mix, has a birthday in April. If I have time, I make little hats for them (these were from last year):
Last year, Maggie’s birthday fell on Opening Day, so I made it Red Sox themed. (She also doesn’t like to wear the hat.) I’ll stop at a local pet store (also one of my clients), and I’ll get them yogurt-frosted cookie. (And I have to get one for each, even though it’s not the other’s birthday.)
I have no clue if dogs have a concept of time or even realize what a “birthday” is. Regardless, it’s a reason for me to spoil them, and I’m sure they’re not complaining about the cookies.
My Tweet of the Week:
It’s that time of the season when you realize you didn’t know half of the players are on new teams.
What I’m Reading: I finished “Thanks, Obama” by David Witt (one of Obama’s speechwriters). It was really good, and it told a behind the scenes look at the administration and the successes and failures that happened over the course of eight years. Now I’m starting “Keep Her Safe” by K.A. Tucker. I read “Until It Fades” in the fall and really liked it, so I’m looking forward to this book.
What I’m Watching: Still Mindhunter. I have like two episodes left, and when I’m done, I’m going to do a review post of it, because I have some things to say.
What I’m Listening To: A lot of country Spotify, but that’s my default. Kacey Musgraves’s new album is pretty good. I’m also into Taylor Swift’s “Delicate”.
