Afternoon trip to southern CT: Earlier in the month, Josh and I took an afternoon trip to Chester and East Haddam, CT. We went to Montgomery and Taggart bookstore, Gillette Castle State Park, Little House Brewing, and Otto Pizza.

I lived a brief bachelorette life: Josh went to Istanbul, Turkey for nine days for his best friend’s wedding (I didn’t go because I don’t have a passport and also haven’t flown internationally before), so it was just me and Cannoli for over a week having a lot of girly time. I treated myself to a coffee and reading date at a local coffeeshop/bookstore, had dinner with my parents, read a lot, ran a 5K race, got fun fall drinks with Alex (our favorite third wheel), and watched a lot of Sunday football. It was such a long week without Josh being here; the seven hour time difference also made it hard to talk with him throughout the day.

The Big E: I normally do a separate post for our annual trip to the Big E, but I’m not doing that this year. Mostly because it wasn’t a full day at the fair for us. We went this past Sunday because (back in June) I bought concert tickets for All Time Low, who were performing that night. This was before a nor’easter came in over the weekend and basically rained all day, every day. We decided to still go during the day and try to make the best of it, but ultimately decided to leave before the concert started because it was still raining and I didn’t feel 100% since I was getting over a cold.

My dance class started again: This session is for six weeks, and our class will have the opportunity to participate in a fall showcase in November. I told my dance teacher I was interested in the showcase, mostly because my mom misses recitals and hasn’t been to one since my last gymnastics one in high school. I also haven’t performed on stage since my freshman year of high school, so we’ll see how this goes.
