Five-ish Year Anniversary

Strikeouts + Sprinkles originally started in 2015 when I was a junior in college, and I wrote on and off for the next two years, just whenever I had something to write about. In 2018, though, I began writing more consistently and eventually purchased a personal plan and the .com domain in March of that year.

So I guess this is the five-year anniversary of my blog, at least the blog I know it as today. I scrolled all the way back to find the post linked above, and I scrolled past probably hundreds of posts; according to my insights and some quick math, I’ve written over 500 posts since 2018. Which is insane.

A ton of things have happened in my life since then, and one perk of having this blog is that it’s all chronicled somewhere. Some highlights include:

  • Graduating with my master’s degree and starting a new job
  • Picking up running as a hobby and starting to run races (to date, that’s 23 races—either 5Ks, 10Ks [virtual], and one 1-mile race)
  • Re-discovering my love of reading
  • Living through a global pandemic
  • Buying a condo and moving out on my own
  • Retiring from my first job of 11 years
  • Starting a relationship with a great guy and having him eventually move in
  • Going on day trips, adventures, and mini vacations

Only a handful of people in my life know about my blog. My mom and Josh are my biggest readers, while a few friends know it exists. Sometimes I wonder if I should share it more widely but other times I like having this little corner of the internet to write about my life. Regardless, I’m glad I’ve stuck with S+S for this long and have gotten to know all of you guys along the way! 🙂
