Catching Up Over Coffee: August 2021

Life

I started off the month by going to a Hartford Yard Goats game with Josh, which was a ton of fun. It felt great to be back at a baseball game for the first time since summer 2019. I’ve gone to a few trivia nights with him, his sister, and his friends at a local bar, and we came in second one week, and that surprised all of us that night. We also went to Northampton this past weekend for an afternoon trip.

This is also one of my proudest accomplishment this month. Josh and I had a wine and charcuterie board night to celebrate our one month (yeah, yeah, we’re those people haha), and it was so good.

My couches got delivered a few weeks ago! And I absolutely love them. If I could spend every moment of every day on them, I would. I’ll do a condo tour post soon! It’s about 90% there, and I think that last 10% will take a little while to complete. But it finally feels more like a home.

We also started back in the office full-time the first week of this month, and it’s okay so far. This week is the first week of classes, and it’s sort of nice to have the students and everyone on campus. It makes things feel a little normal.

The theater group I volunteer with had their first live and in-person show this month, Shrek The Musical. It was a youth production, meaning the actors were ages 8 to around 22, and the show was so good. It was so funny and all of the kids did amazing.

I’ve gone home a few times to my parents to see them as well as the pets. Lucy is already getting so big as a puppy and I can’t handle it. Every time I call home, my mom updates me on Lucy’s latest adventures.

Running

I’ve run a few times this month, but it’s been either super rainy or super hot, so it’s been impossible to have a routine running schedule. I have a 5K Friday night that I did two years ago and it was a lot of fun; I’m looking forward to doing it again.

Sports

The Red Sox are frustrating and there are too many ups and downs. They were doing pretty well for a while and now it’s like they’ve fallen off. The games are a bit painful to watch. And they have five players on the COVID IL now.

I’m sort of excited football is starting soon, both college and professional. We have our fantasy draft next week, and I’m not prepared for it at all, which should surprise no one.

(I DNF’d a few books this month just because I couldn’t get into them. I don’t really force myself anymore to read books I don’t like or can’t get into.)

My Questions For You!

  1. How was your August?
  2. Are you looking forward to fall?
  3. What’s one thing you have planned for next month?

  1. Eeppp awesome update!

My August was insane and stressful and I am still recovering from hurting my back.

In September I am looking forward to being settled at work because right now I do not feel settled at all!

I hope to have some dates of my own planned for September 😄 but we’ll see how that goes haha
