Hey Folks!

Since I haven’t posted since the second, I thought I’d drop in to say hi. I’ve been busy as summer is winding down, and I haven’t really had much to write about. I went to a Hartford Yard Goats game on Friday, but it’s not enough to warrant its own post, so I’ll cover that in my monthly tea chat. I’ve been running two to three times a week, and I’m spending my entire weekends at the ice cream shop. Plus a bunch of doctors’ appointments at once and spending a lot of time reading means I’m in bed before 10:00 p.m.

I did decorate more of my office. There was a little bookcase in the main office area, which no one was using, so I moved it into my office. It faces the hallway—which my office is at the end of—and on the right you can see part of my desk.

I took last Thursday and Friday off—I’m so bad at using my vacation days—and on Friday, my mom and I went to Marshalls and Michaels. I got the sign and the three fake plants at Marshall’s. The sign says “Don’t forget where you came from but never lose sight of where you are going.” The plant on the far right came with three ropes that would allow me to hang it if I chose, but instead, I took the ropes out of the holes and hot glued one on each of the pots. There’s no way I could keep real plants alive—even with a window—so the fake plants are the best option for me. The blue mason jar is from Michaels and came with little fairy lights inside.

The “B” on the middle shelf was a gift from a friend three years ago, and the book and magazine are University-related. The lights came from my stash of Christmas lights that I bought at Walmart last winter to put up in my office. Luckily I had bought an extra box at the time.

So I guess here are just some of the things I’m into lately:

Currently reading: City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert

Currently watching on Netflix: How to Get Away with Murder

Favorite show: Bar Rescue

Favorite song: “Call You Mine” by The Chainsmokers/Bebe Rexa

Ice cream flavor: Oreo

Drink: Sunny D (because I am a child)

Feel free to answer with your own things you’re into lately!

      • Pretty much non-existent right now lol I have been putting it off cos I just have no motivation after work. But this is my last week of work. I have all next week to plan so I have to really buckle down. I didn’t even plan anything for my classes this week! I’m so tired lol and my class is so boring I have no desire to do anything

      • I feel like I need to be doin SOOO much more than I probably will get done. But also have no idea what I’m doing because no one has ever taught me how to do the set up and first week lol and I’m not even sure what my room will look like. But I have ideas on what I want to do if there is space

  2. I always love your office decor! I wish I had more room to decorate like that. I’m in a really small cubicle but I love to try and keep it cute and clutter-free.

I hope you are able to enjoy what’s left of summer! I went to a baseball game a couple of weeks ago and thought of you as I sat there and had no idea what was going on! 🙂

    • Awh thanks! Yeah, cubicles can be tough but definitely decorateable.

This entire month has flown by and I’m hoping fall won’t be as busy. And that’s too funny. Just as long as you stay alert for any foul balls, you should be fine haha.

  3. The shelf is so cute! I love how you took the ropes & hot glued them to the pots, looks good & super creative. 🙂 I just added myself on the 13 week hold list for the City of Girls book! Hope you’ve enjoyed or are enjoying it. I can’t wait to read it!

    • I do enjoy my arts and crafts haha. I finished The City of Girls last week. I liked it! It was a little too long for my liking (like 450 pages), and the first and second halves of the book seemed like different stories, but overall, it was a good book. It did a good job at describing 1940s NYC and the impact of WWII.
