Spontaneous date night: Earlier in the month, Josh and I had tickets to a brewfest (my friend Alex was going to third wheel with us), but because of a nasty thunderstorm that came through that afternoon, it’s going to be rescheduled to the spring. Our backup plan was to have a little date night for ourselves, so we went to Connecticut Valley Brewing. We each got flights and really good sandwiches: turkey bacon melt for me, buffalo chicken wrap for Josh.

The Big E: Josh and I had our annual trip to The Big E and ate lots of yummy food.
Last Maine trip of the year: We went up north for the last time last week. The campground where we stay is seasonal, so Josh will be going back up with his parents in the middle of October to close for the year. So we wanted to squeeze in one last trip for the two of us. I’m hoping to have a recap post of that trip out this week.

I picked up an old hobby: I’ve been cross stitching on and off for the past four-ish years, and now that fall and winter are around the corner, it seems like a cozy hobby to start again. And it’s perfect to work on for a few hours during football games.
Miscellaneous:
- My dance classes started up again! We took the summer off, but I think we’ll have weekly classes until the holidays. I was definitely sore after the first one back, though.
- I had to get my car’s windshield replaced for the first time in my eight years of ownership. The state is milling and re-paving the highways, and the tiniest rock got kicked up and cracked my windshield. Shout out to Safelite for making the appointment scheduling super easy, and shout out to the tech for coming on time and getting it fully replaced in 45 minutes.
- I ran almost 25 miles this month in preparation for the Hartford Marathon 5K on October 11. I think I’m ready? I mean, I know I won’t finish first, but I have to keep telling myself it’s just for fun and I’m also fundraising for a great dog rescue charity.
- Crockpot Sundays are back! This is something we started last year: every Sunday, we make a Crockpot recipe for Sunday football. So far, we’ve made taco pasta (it’s #9 on the list), chicken fajitas, and eggplant lasagna.

I totally meant to do that when I was writing the post but I’ve had a bad case of tiny squirrel brain today. I just edited the post and linked the recipes!
