I’m pretty sure I blinked and we’re already at the end of April. January felt like it took three years, but these past few months have flown by. It’s crazy.

Maggie turned 13: She’s a teenager! 🥺 I can’t handle it. Her birthday was April 3rd, so I went over after dinner to celebrate.
Afternoon date: Josh and I try to have a “date night” of some sort each month, something we can put on the calendar to look forward to together. We went to a cat cafe that I found online; the cafe works with a local cat rescue to provide a space for the cats to live before they’re adopted (all of the kitties there are available for adoption). But you can also book a 50-minute session to play with the cats to help them socialize. That’s what we did! I promise we didn’t take one of them home with us.
(When we buy a house, we would get a cat then, but not now while we’re in the condo because I don’t want a litter box in our main bathroom.)
Afterward, we stopped by a local independent bookstore, River Bend Bookshop, and I got The Favorites by Layne Fargo, before grabbing dinner at Maggie McFly’s.

Easter: I went to my parents’ house for dinner. We’re not big Easter people, but we have a nice ham dinner. And the Easter bunny still comes! Josh and I both got baskets with candy. I headed over a bit early so I could play with the pups in the yard.
Exercise: I’ve only had two dance classes this month (a few were cancelled because of not enough people), and the schedule next month shifts a bit. Life just gets in the way, you know? I’ve been able to get out for walks after work, which is nice. Also, part of me misses running? It’s super weird. (But I’ll have to wait until my spring allergies pass to go outside.)
Summer trip planning: Earlier in the month, I spent a solid two hours looking up things to do in Cape Cod for our trip the first week in June. I’ve got a lot of options in a Google Doc, so next we have to sit down and figure out which days we want to do what. I’m really looking forward to the trip—mostly because we’re not flying.
I’m actually able to watch Red Sox games this season: For the past few years, I had been using a sketchy way to get NESN (since YouTube TV doesn’t carry it). When the season started this year, I was frustrated with the MLB TV app on my TV within the first week, so now I’m using NESN 360 on a Roku. But it works! Con: I, unfortunately, was able to watch those terrible games against the White Sox. Pro: I saw Jarren Duran steal home plate live.
