March was a pretty good month! After a rough start to the year, things are finally feeling like they’re back to normal.
Trivia night: Josh, myself, and his friends went to a trivia night earlier in the month. Fun fact: that Tuesday trivia night is when I first met his sister and those same friends waaay back in the summer of 2021. The group of us hadn’t been to trivia in a very long time, and we did surprisingly well! We came in third overall and even won a round.
I’m an “aunt”: Josh’s sister had a baby girl this month! Since I’m an only child, the only way I could have nieces and nephews is from a significant other’s siblings—and since Josh and I aren’t married, that’s why I’m saying “aunt” in quotes (haha). Josh was at the hospital after his niece was born, and the two of us went over the other week (when the new fam was home) so I could meet the little nugget. Josh and I plan to teach her all of the bad stuff 😉
Dance class: My weekly dance class started up again! It’s been an absolute joy to be back and being sore after is totally worth it. This session will run through the end of May.
St. Patrick’s Day weekend: Josh took it off from work, so we were actually able to hang out all weekend long. That Saturday, we went to a brewery for his belated birthday gift (he picks a brewery, I pay for the beer) and then went to the movies to see Novocaine. We had only seen two 30-second commercials for the movie and decided to go, so we weren’t expecting it to be as bloody/gory as it was. There were a few squeamish parts… And then on that Sunday, we were able to sleep in a bit and went to my parents for my dad’s birthday dinner. On actual St. Patrick’s Day, Josh was back to work but I went to a fundraising event for the theater group I volunteer with at a local brewery. I was able to see some folks I hadn’t seen in a while, and there was karaoke which I did not participate in—it’s for the best.
Dinner with an old friend: I don’t really talk to anyone from high school or college anymore, but I do have a friend from fifth grade that I don’t see as much as I used to, but she texted me a few weeks ago and wanted to get together. Life just happens, you know? So I was super excited that we were grabbing dinner. She’s one of those friends that even if you haven’t seen them for a few years, you pick up right where you left off.
I shouldn’t be left unattended: Josh traveled for work recently, so that meant I was living the bachelorette life for a few days. Which I always enjoy (no offense to Josh). That being said, Josh was flying while I called my mom and had her talk me into buying Jonas Brothers concert tickets for their 20th-anniversary tour. So, yeah. In my defense, I bought the cheapest ones available that are basically up in the nose bleeds, but I’ve never seen the JoBros before in concert, it’s their 20th anniversary tour, and I don’t know if they’ll be touring in the future.
I walked a 5K!: I haven’t run one single step in the calendar year of 2025, but that’s okay. My friend (from my ice cream scooping days) asked if I wanted to walk a 5K race with her and her daughter, and I said of course. I’ve run the race before, but I was perfectly happy to walk this time around. It was this past Saturday, and it was a bit cloudy and windy. We walked the 5K in about 50 minutes, and after we went out for breakfast.
