Diary No. 17

The recurring dream lives on. Two years ago—I guess exactly to the day—I wrote a post about how I had a recurring dream about once a month about working at the ice cream shop where I spent 11 glorious years scooping ice cream. I can say now that the dream lives on. It’s still usually about once a month and follows the same format: I’m typically not in the same space as the shop but I just know it’s the shop and I’m either there to work a shift or visit the other girls who are working. It’s now been three and a half years since I retired but I guess if you spend 11 years somewhere, it will come back to (haunt) you.

My newest obsession: CohhCarnage on YouTube. I have Josh to blame for this. He’s into gaming and had been watching this streamer play a game called Stalker 2. He’d put it on the TV in the background and I somehow got into it??? I don’t game—I guess the closest I get is playing Animal Crossing on the Switch—and Stalker 2 isn’t my kind of game at all, but I enjoy watching the streaming videos. It’s weird but something I look forward to watching with Josh. Cohh (not the streamer’s real name) is fun to watch play, and he has an office cat who sits behind him on a tower (and sometimes shows his dogs as part of the “puppy tax”). So, yeah, I’m in.

I just want one really good snowstorm. It snowed this morning for, I think, our third measurable storm this winter, and it’s only been, at most, four inches. Is it too much to ask for like eight inches of snow? So I’m snowed in and have an excuse to not leave the condo? (I also say this as someone who pays a monthly HOA for a landscaping company to come do snow removal.) I live in New England for goodness sake. I WANT SNOW—so I can stay in and read under a blanket and make something yummy in my crockpot.

Putting away laundry is the worst. I don’t mind actually doing laundry—I guess perks of living in a one floor condo with a washer and dryer in the hallway. And I could fold laundry for days. I just absolutely hate putting it all away. I know it’ll take less than five minutes but I hate it.
