I didn’t mean to not write for 11 days. These past few weeks have been… well, sucky. The week after the Super Bowl, Josh and I were both sick—him first and then me. It was only colds, but we were still exhausted and felt crummy. And then this week we’ve been dealing with Josh having a rental car that’s an EV—electronic vehicle—and how inconvenient they can be. The rental car place only had EVs left when Josh picked up a rental for the next few weeks, and if you don’t have a charger at your home, it’s really difficult to keep it charged to use it every day. Josh ended up returning it and we’re a one-car family for a bit, which works out for us since I work from home now and we work different work schedules.
And now I feel like I’m missing out on everything in the world. Like the new MLB uniforms? And that Sam Waterson left Law & Order? And that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be summering in Europe? (That’s hot goss from my work study who’s a big Swiftie.) But I did know about the AT&T outage the other day; I have Verizon so I was saved from being off the grid for half the day.
Although I just want to put my phone on DND and read in a blanket cocoon. That’s usually my fallback when things get stressful or I get overwhelmed. I know that I need alone time to recharge, so hopefully this upcoming week after work I can get back to reading. (But I am happy too that my weekly shows are new and back!)
One good thing from this week: my raise went through at work. It was part of the promotion I got last summer and the HTML/CSS coding class I took online to gain more web skills. I got the official letter in the mail from HR and it’s currently hanging up on the fridge because you gotta celebrate the little things.
Josh and I are going to get a Nintendo Switch! We’ve talked about getting one on and off for the last few months, but we’re finally going to get one this weekend. It’ll be a good alternative to us watching TV at night, plus I can play Animal Crossing! I had the game when I had a Nintendo DS back in the day and loved the game.
