What I’m Thankful For

Happy almost Thanksgiving to my American blogger friends! I wanted to do a fun “What I’m Thankful For” post this year, so enjoy all of the random things that popped into my head.

The Dick Wolf universe. I love my Law & Order franchise, and I watch some of the FBI franchise (the regular one and Most Wanted). All the Law & Orders are coming back on January 18 and I’m so excited.

Socks. I guess I’m the weirdo who wears socks to bed, but how do you not??? It just seems so weird to go to bed without socks and have your feet get cold???

The Do Not Disturb setting. If I could go off the grid, I would, but the closest thing is the Do Not Disturb setting on my phone. I have two settings: one that allows my mom’s and Josh’s texts to still come through and another that is full-on DND for my Henry-David-Thoreau-in-the-woods moments.

Used bookstores. They’re just my happy place. Especially when they have cats.

Everything showers. These include full hair wash, body wash, and shaving. I feel like more of a human after going through the whole process.

Working from home. No more half-hour commute both ways, I get to sleep in an extra hour, and I don’t have to deal with loud conversations outside of my office door. I’ll be WFH for a while now, and I’m looking forward to it.

Josh’s sweatshirts. I like that they’re big and comfy. The rule is that I can only have two at a time, and if I want a new one, I have to trade in my current one (after washing it) for a different one of my choosing.

Google maps. Obviously great for determining driving distance between two places but also great for searching a certain area for restaurants, things to do, etc. That’s how I planned out all of our places to eat while we were in DC: I’d look in an area, search for restaurants, and see how far one was from another location. And street view. If I don’t know what the parking situation is, I’m not going.

What are your Thanksgiving plans looking like tomorrow? I’ll be going home to my parents for the day, and I’ll have a full recap up this weekend.
