Life
This month was pretty great—aside from the fall allergies I suffered early on in the month. I’m sorry, it’s not supposed to be 80 degrees in October and my body was very confused. Other than that, though, I had a busy month with a lot of fun activities.

Josh and I had a fun fall weekend! It included a hike, ciders, a drink called the “Drunken Donut,” spooky pizzas, apple and pumpkin picking, and a corn maze.

Miscellaneous things:
- The theater group I volunteer with put on a Villian Cabaret show where performers sang songs from villains in musicals/shows. I dressed up as a ladybug, took some videos for social media, and made a new friend.
- I reached my goal of 60 books for the year!!!
- I’ve been doing a lot of reading and watching football and I love it.

More fall fun with Mike’s Maze beer tasting!

Josh and I went for another “hike”—I call it walking in the woods—at Talcott Mountain. I didn’t realize the mountain was going to be so steep, so I complained most of the time but enjoyed it overall. We walked up the trail to Heublein Tower, which was built in 1914 and was used as a summer retreat for the Heublein family. The state purchased the tower in 1966 and opened the state park to the public in 1974.
Things not pictured:
- I got my flu and COVID shots
- I went to see Bright Star with some friends from the theater group
- I went to jury duty for the first time
- I celebrated my five year work anniversary
- Josh and I went to a homecoming event for my university that was at a local brewery
- We also went to see the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie
“Exercise”?
I’ve been running a few times a week, and I signed up for a 5K in November. I’ve done this particular race twice before, and Josh’s friends are going to do it with me.
Sports
I did not watch a single second of post-season baseball, and I’m only vaguely aware of the teams in the World Series. After the terrible Red Sox season, I didn’t really have any interest in watching the post-season—which is so unlike me.
Meanwhile, we’ve been watching lots of football. I’m not doing terrible in either fantasy league I’m in either.

Well, if you’ve made it this far, Happy Halloween! Let me know what your favorite Halloween candy is. I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Kit-Kats, and 3 Musketeers.
Young Frankenstein!…It’s been a while…right now, Stranger Things, but later…as for football, after I lost my love for Green Bay, I now just cheer for whomever’s playing KC…..and maybe Seattle

I have a Netflix recommendation if you’re a fan of spooky/mild horror… The Fall of the House of Usher. I just finished it last night and really enjoyed it. It gave me The Haunting of Hill House vibes if you are familiar with that. On to candy… KitKat, Reese’s (any variety except pieces), and Twix.

Josh actually finished watching that recently! I’d catch parts here and there when I was reading but I think it would be too scary/spooky for me. Even though I read my fair share of Poe in high school.

That’s fair. It was a bit too gory for my liking, but the storyline was fun to follow.
