Loving Lately No. 1

This might be a sister series to my Diary series I started. Just a random list of things I love lately!

Colorful nails. I surprisingly have enough patience to paint my own nails. I always have; I’ve only gotten my nails done at a salon once, and that was with a friend for my birthday. I tend to paint my nails seasonal colors, like oranges and browns in the fall, red and green for Christmas, dark colors in the winter, etc. My favorite time is spring and summer because I’ll break out the pretty colors. And it may be childish, but lately I’ll paint each nail a different color on each hand (for a total of five different colors). It makes me happy when I look down at my nails, especially when I’m typing all the time, so why not have fun with my nails?

Below Deck. Two summers ago, I fell into a Below Deck binge and it was one of the only shows I first watched when I moved into my condo. I got through most of the seasons and tried to watch the current season(s) on TV but fell off. I recently got back into watching it on Peacock. It’s a good show to have in the background and I’m here for all of the drama.

_______ Radio on Spotify. I usually listen to podcasts when I’m working, but since we’re in the middle of working on our new website, I often zone out when I’m working so I don’t want to miss out on what the podcasts are talking about. I’ve turned to really random music playlists, and I like how Spotify has “[insert artist here] Radio” playlists where you can choose an artist and the playlist will have that artists’s songs along with similar ones. So far I’ve listened to: Noah Kahan, Taylor Swift, Niall Horan, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, Fall Out Boy, and Led Zeppelin. Plus This is Taylor Swift, Yacht Rock, and All Out 70s. Yes, I know my music taste is all over the place.

Reading before bed. For the most part, I’ve always been a read before bed person. I’m just proud of myself for reading before bed pretty much every night for the past few weeks. And it’s something I’ve been looking forward to. Thankfully I have a little book light—thanks, mom!—that I can use so I don’t keep Josh up while I’m reading.

Bike shorts. I’m 100% on the bike shorts trend. I bought a few pairs for running from Old Navy in hopes that they would give me more coverage, and they did. I’ve always had some chafing problems with the shorter shorts, but I’m super happy with the bike shorts length. I also got a few pairs for just hanging out at home—and I can feel like Princess Diana when I wear shorts and a crewneck sweatshirt.
