Life
Contrary to popular belief, I actually did other things than go to Washington, DC—but it was the best part of the month!

You can read all of my recap posts here.

On the first Saturday of the month, I was registered to run a 5K, but with the stress of packing and getting ready for DC, I decided to walk it and asked if Josh would join me. So we did our first 5K together! There were a handful of other people walking it, but I made sure we were the first of the walkers to finish. Afterward, we got bagels and coffee/tea.
The next day I went with my mom to the town library’s annual book sale. It was the bag sale, so you could buy a small bag or large bag and fill it with as many books as you wanted. I ended. up with 13 books, and I think my mom got 19.

In the middle of the month, Josh and I went to a local brewfest. Last year, and again this year, I helped with social media for promoting the event, so obviously we had to go. We had taken a selfie together, and some random guy noticed and then offered to take a picture of us, so that’s how we ended up with this photo.
Other things I did this month that aren’t pictured:
- Picked up my new glasses
- Went home for Father’s Day
- Started cross-stitching again
- Dealt with a bird who decided to build a nest on the downspout directly over my AC unit
- Had an ice cream date with Josh
Work
I can’t remember the last time I had a specific Work section in one of these recaps but I think it’s needed for this month’s recap. As of July 1, I’ll be promoted to Web Content Manager! This has been in the works since March-ish and HR-paperwork-official as of the end of May, but I wanted to wait until it was actually happening to mention it on here.
From my current role as Digital/Social Media Specialist, I’ll be dropping the social media aspect and fully shifting into managing the University’s website. I’ve been working on the website since I started there but in my new role, it’ll be my full-time responsibility. I know it’ll have its challenges but I’m definitely ready and looking forward to it.
I’m also taking an online course, Introduction to HTML and CSS, to learn more about coding for my role. It’s through UC San Diego and it runs from the end of June to the middle of August. I know the basics of coding from learning on the job, but I’m totally open to taking the course and learning more about it.
“Exercise”?
I haven’t run since the end of May. Between our DC trip, the weather being hot, humid, and rainy, plus the second wave of wild fire smoke, I’m not sure running would be the best thing for me right now. So Josh and I have been trying to go on walks after dinner during the week.
