If We Were Having Tea

Work

This was kind of a quiet month at work. There weren’t too many events on campus and my work load wasn’t too crazy. But I know March into April will be busy. We did a cool project with the school mascot—and I might have conquered my fear of mascots? (Or at least my fear of this mascot. Regarding other mascots, I’ll have to get back to you.)

The ice cream shop opened last week, and before you ask—yes, we always open this time every year. I worked last Saturday and I worked today. It’s really nice to see all of the girls again and catch up.

Running

So. I’ve been having a like-hate relationship with running this month. It got to the point where I hated running, like hated it. I’ve been working through some things when it comes to running and I hope it’ll get better. I’m two weeks out from my 10K race, and I think I’m ready for it. I’ve been following my training plan as best as I can, and now it’s my “practice plan” because the connotation of “training” made me paranoid about my times.

But in other news, my ankle is bothering me anymore! So that’s a good thing.

Sports

Baseball starts in a month! And the Red Sox have a manager now! (But the league hasn’t released its findings of the investigation into the team yet…)

Extra Stuff

February went by so fast, folks! The only fun thing I did this month was get dinner with a friend from college. I had a bunch of doctor’s appointments, though. And I did take a day and a half off from work, so that’s a good thing.

Here’s a picture of my cat, Stella, sitting like a human.

My Questions for You!

  1. How was your February?
  2. Was it as boring as mine?
  3. Do you do anything for Valentine’s Day/St. Patrick’s Day?
  4. Anything you’re looking forward to?

    • I didn’t realize that “I Am Not Okay With This” is only 7 episodes and since the episodes are short (less than a half hour) I flew through it. I’m hoping they come out with a second season!

  1. Stella has thumbs! 😻 I love cats with thumbs. They look like they’re wearing mittens!

I always find February a bit slow… Which is funny because it’s the shortest month. But it’s not a bad thing! It sounds like you had a pleasant enough month. 😊 I have to ask… Do people really eat ice cream in the middle of February?!

    • Yess! In her litter she was one of two kittens who had thumbs and that’s one of the reasons why we picked her out.

Haha yeah, people do. It’s more so our regular customers who are excited that we’re open. I don’t think we get “new” people until the summer, when it’s a reasonable time to get ice cream. But it’s been mild here weather wise, like no snow and it doesn’t get below 40 degrees, so it’s not freezing out and I guess acceptable ice cream weather?

  2. Ooo way to go with a productive February!

I’m starting back into yoga again (did three whole routines in all of February) because I want to possibly start running again outside when the weather gets nice.

I had a pretty great February! For a few reasons – one being I actually had a Valentines this year. It was simple and cute and unexpected but adorable. And the guy who made it happen is ok too 😂

Looking forward to my first teacher March Break! Already got a toddler date set up to go to a museum just me and him!! Sans baby sister which is what we both want lol she’s adorable but I miss just us hanging out! And so does he. I even told his parents it’s “my treat” so hopefully they don’t try to pay me for the day!

    • That’s exciting you’re getting back into yoga! And I hope you’re able to start running again! Nicer weather makes it a lot better to run.

Awh a Valentine ☺️ that’s great. Sometimes simple is better.

I hope you get to enjoy your break! The museum trip sounds like it’ll be fun 🙂

      • Oh yes! I am loving the yoga again!! And I really do want to run. I haven’t in this neighborhood yet so I’ll see how I feel once I try it out a bit. I might not go as late as I used to.

And yes a Valentine ☺️☺️ it was great and the simple was so sweet.

Toddler days are ALWAYS the best

  3. Watched my first pre-season Giant’s game the other day. They won, 9-6 over the Colorado Rockies. Of course there were a lot of new faces but my cutie Crawford was still at shortstop for most of the game 🙂 I’m amazed at all you have time for during the month. I can’t read that much in a month, mainly because I read at night in bed so I fall asleep!

    • I’m so happy pre-season games are here. I like Crawford! He’s always seemed like a good player.

Haha yeah when I get around to writing these recaps I’m like, wow I did all of this? I normally read on my lunch break at work and I’ll read before bed, although sometimes I do get tired, have to put the book down, and go to bed haha.
