Last weekend started my busy July plans, which I’ve been looking forward to. Last Friday, four girls I work with at the ice cream shop and I went to a paint night. It was my first time going to one, but funny enough, I actually have a client at work who does paint nights – but she didn’t have one going on that night or else I would have suggested going there.
I’ve been painting for a long time, I actually get it from my mom who has been painting for over 15 years. I told her that we could go to one in August, as long as she promised not to show up the instructor.
My mom hung up my painting in the living room, which is a true honor in my house since all of hers cover the walls. It was definitely a lot of fun and everyone should do at least one.
Then I went down to Niantic, CT for the weekend. My roommate – well, I don’t live with her anymore but I still call her my roommate – was having her graduation party at her family’s beach house, and we couldn’t have had a better weekend weather wise. I’ve been down to the house before; we went last summer, and the first few pictures below are from then.
Most of her family was there, and I got to see my other two roommates, who I also haven’t seen since graduation. She also had a few of her friends from the tennis team there, too. There was so much food – I definitely over ate – and it was great to catch up with everyone again. And go kayaking, too!
To no one’s surprise, I came home with a nasty sunburn, as you can see in the picture above. I’m applying aloe every hour, on the hour, but it’s slowly getting better. I also have about five bug bites on my left foot from when we were watching the fireworks Saturday night. East Lyme just conveniently was lighting off fireworks the weekend of her graduation party.
I was in bed by 8:30pm Sunday night because I was exhausted from being out in the sun all day and didn’t sleep well Saturday night because I typically don’t when I’m not in my own bed (how I ever slept at college is still a mystery to me). The entire weekend was a good distraction and I’m so happy I went.
