I still haven’t gotten used to waking up at 7:00 three times a week for my internship, and since it was down pouring when I rolled out of bed, it made everything so much worse. Including my drive. Although it’s less than 15 minutes on back roads, it meant using my windshield wipers on the highest speed and looking like one of those obnoxious people.
There was only four of us in the office today, and that’s including me. I don’t think I’ve written about my internship yet, so I’ll give the short version of it. It’s at a marketing group that works with local clients on marketing strategies, website design, social media management, and copywriting blog posts and web content. I’ve done a little bit of everything so far, but I really like writing blog posts and press releases. I was able to attend a trade show a few weeks ago, and it was pretty cool to walk around to see the other booths and services the companies offered. Plus I got a name tag, so that made my day.
It’s a small little company, as there were eight people at the weekly meeting last Friday. Each account manager is unique in their own way, and I get along with all of them pretty well. I’m grateful that I was able to get this internship this summer, and I can only go up from here.
Since I work 8:30 to 1:30, I’ve been working out when I get home before I plant myself on the couch for the night. I don’t like running on a treadmill, so I’ve been riding a stationary bike for five to seven miles (and one time last week I reached ten). I work on some core stuff afterwards, sometimes with my “work-out buddy” aka my cat. I’ve started my third week of working out three times a week for about an hour, and I’d like to think I’ve seen some progress, but hopefully I will by the end of the summer. I’ve been trying to eat better too, and by that, I mean eating a little less and cutting back on my ice cream in take (which is hard, trust me).
On the bright side, there’s only a week left until Will and I take on NYC, and I’ll definitely post pictures and my experience as a Red Sox fan in Yankee Stadium. It was a gloomy start to the week, hopefully it’ll get better from here!
